Immediately after Thanksgiving, Doug (my husband) and I returned to Grand Rapids from Chicago to prep for a big holiday market our candle company has been doing for the past few years. There were many late nights, and it felt like there was little time for creating content over here and on my social media channels. I’m just getting back into the habit after being so busy with my real job for a few weeks, and I’m so grateful to have a space to share all my thoughts, ideas, and recipes with you.
I’m hoping in the new year to make my substack more of a place of engagement with this community that we’ve been cultivating together. I still haven’t decided if I want to put this content behind a paywall, but I’d love to hear your thoughts if you’re an avid user of this platform.
I’m very curious about which platform you initially found my content.
If you’re active on TikTok, you've probably heard that the app could be banned in the US in a month. This is scary for many content creators who have grown a large audience there. Still, instead of worrying too much about it, I’m choosing to be optimistic about the opportunities that change will present.
I’ve long wanted to create more long-form content on YouTube, but I've been too afraid to try it out. I recently started posting my short-form videos over there, and I hope to begin making longer-form content in the new year.
So, I guess I just wanted to pop in with an update and say I’m still alive. I'm just packing and shipping the last of our holiday orders over at Simply Curated, and I should be back posting new recipes soon.
Your content is awesome. Glad you're here.
I love your content! As someone that found you on tiktok, I was so excited finding you other platforms. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
